The BIG PBA MENU is only available in METAL SHARK® 2/2A BIGpba metal detectors.
BIG METAL mV
This parameter is only functional in connection with the optional relay K3.
When the signal amplitude of the metal detector exceeds the BIG METAL mV threshold the relay K3 closes.
Relay K3 is only included if BIG METAL alarm option is included in your order. Relay K3 is a second metal alarm output. The output only displays big metal parts. K3 is independent from the general metal alarm K1. In case of big metal parts normally both relays are triggered.
Example: The metal detector is installed in front of the prepress. In case of small metal parts the prepress may remain closed. The belt nose in front of the main press opens, however, to reject the metal piece. This decreases the amount of rejected material.
Recommended setting: Take the biggest possible metal piece that would not damage the prepress. Feed it through the middle of the aperture. Observe the metal detector’s signal amplitude. Determine the highest value that is displayed. Enter this value as BIG METAL mV.
Note: Set in the IN/OUT MENU one of the outputs to big metal.
Range: 0-3000 mV
INFO MAT HEIGHT
This display serves to control the mat height as it is transmitted to terminal 1 (AIN1).
INFO MET. SENSE
Shows the current metal sensitivity with activated sensitivity threshold.
INFO AMP X %
Shows currently used amplification based on the chosen threshold.
