MET. SENSE TABLE

The metal sensitivity menu allows configuring sensitivity settings based on different (externally measured) mat heights.
Settings only available for metal detectors type BIGpba.

If the parameter is set to no, the metal sensitivity and amplifications are used as configured by METAL SENSE, AMPLIFICATION X and AMPLIFICATION Y parameters inside the PRODUCT MENU.

The metal sensitivity is automatically adjusted to the mat height. Therefore, a sensitivity curve must be created.
For most applications applies: Thinner mats require the detection of smaller metal pieces and hence a higher sensitivity.
The figure adjacent shows an example how the sensitivity may vary in accodance to the mat height.
In the example the mat height 100mm leads to a sensitivity setting of 80mV. A mat height of 125mm leads to 110mV. A mat height of 200mm leads to 300mV.

Note: Between two set values sensitivity changes linearly.
Therefore, it is important to choose the four frequencies thoroughly.

Outside of the definded area the metal sensitivity is the same as the
next entered value – refer to mat height 0mm = 50mm and 250mm =
200mm.

Note: To disable the characteristic curve set one of the parameters
in the
MAT HEIGHTS (MENU) to 0 mV. Instead you manually control the metal sensitivity with METAL SENSE mV which is valid for all mat heights.

A-HEIGHT mm – F-HEIGHT mm

Defines the mat height for which you want to set the metal sensitivity.

Note: Set the mat heights in ascending order (A-HEIGHT mm = smallest, F-HEIGHT mm = biggest).

Range: 0-990.0 mm

A-AMP X/Y – F-AMP X/Y

Defines the amplification setting to be used in the interval of mat heights from the current group to the next group.
Range: 3%, 6%, 12%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 200%, 400%, 800%

A-SENSE mV – F-SENSE mV min

Defines the metal sensitivity to be used at the beginning of the related mat height interval (A-HEIGHT mmF-HEIGHT mm).
Range: 0 – 2,990 mV

A-SENSE mV – E-SENSE mV max

Defines the metal sensitivity to be used at the end of the related mat height interval (A-HEIGHT mm – F-HEIGHT mm).
Range: 0 – 2,990 mV

F-SENSE mV max

Currently unused, since last interval is always constant sensitivity.

Note: In most cases the SENSE mV max value for one group will be the same as the SENSE mV min value of the following group. However it is sometimes desirable to define the line segments of each group individually (e.g. when an amplification switch occurs between the two groups) and therefore it is possible to configure these values individually.
