Belt Splice Setup

Adjusts the metal sensitivity automatically when a belt splice passes the metal detector.

The belt splice detector is optional equipment, that consists of an extension for the software and a photo sensor with mounting arm.

SPLICE DETECT

  • yes = enables the automatic belt splice detection
  • no = disables the automatic belt splice detection

SPLICE DELAY mm

Distance between belt splice and metal detectors leading edge – when the belt splice passes the photo sensor – minus 1.5x aperture height.

Set SPLICE DELAY mm = Distance between belt splice detector and metal detector.

Range: 0 – 9.999 mm

SPLICE ACTIVE mm

For this belt length the changed metal sensitivity (SPLICE SENSE mV) is active. Recommended value for SPLICE ACTIVE mm = 3x length of metal detector in conveying direction.

Range: 0 – 9.999 mm

SPLICE SENSE mV

Metal sensitivity when the belt splice passes through the metal detector. Run the belt splice through the detector and watch the mV signal amplitude. Set SPLICE SENSE mV to max mV value x 1.5.

SPLICE SENSE mV = 3000 entirely deactivates metal detection while the metal splice passes.

Range: 0 – 3.000mV

SPLICE AMP X/Y

Allows to indicate a different value for amplification for the distance set in SPLICE ACTIVE mm to make sure especially high signals caused by a belt splice will be downgraded by an adapted amplification.

Range: 3%, 6%, 12%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 200%, 400%, 800%
