TEST MENU

Settings of the PVS (Performance Validation System) test.

Note: The PVS settings are set individually for each PRODUCT NO.
Note: After doing a setting you are prompted to select if the setting is valid for:
the current PRODUCT NO only (press OK),
or if you want to copy this setting to all PRODUCT NO (press OK +/- ) .

AUTO PVS TESTSets up an automatic reminder to check the performance of the metal detector.
Default: no
SIGNAL UNITSignal = metalsignal and productsignal

Switches the signal unit shown on display between % (related to thereshold) and mV (absolute).

Signal strenght in % shows how close the signal comes to a metal alarm.

green = good product in sevure range (0-80%)
yellow = still good product, but almost identified as metal (80-100%)
red = metal alarm (> 100%)

The unit % is a simple representation to show contaminated products to the user.

The unit mV shows the absolute signal amplitude in mV. This unit provides specific inforamtion about the voltage produced from the metal or product. This unit is used to calibrate the metal detector and to compare signal values.
PVS FE mm
PVS NonFE mm
PVS SS mm
Set the metal test piece size that the PVS shall prompt for.
Note: If you do not want to test a certain metal set zero.
Default: depends on application
Range: 0 – 99.9 [Millimetres]
PVS FE max %
PVS NonFE max %
PVS SS max %
Set the percentage that is not to be exceeded during the test. If it is exceeded an alarm is caused.
Note: If you do not want to limit a certain % then set zero.
Default: depends on application
Range: 0 – 9999
PVS FREQ hrs
Sets intervals for testing if AUTO PVS TEST is set to yes.
Default: 24
Range: 1 – 500
PVS WINDOW minTime frame for testing after PVS appeared. After this time has elapsed and no detection has taken place, the error 5 PVS Test Failed is displayed.
Default: 30
Range: 1 – 180
PVS ERROR COUNTSets how often you can skip or fail the PVS test before the error 5 PVS Test Failed is displayed.
Default: 3
Range: 1 – 999
PVS COUNT METALIf set to no the metal counter does not increase when detecting a test piece during PVS.
Default: no
PVS USE PRODUCTIf set to no the user is promted to pass the test piece without a product sample.
Default: no
INITIALS TESTERInitials of testing person will be saved in the test report, to show who executed the test.
Range: A-Z / 0-9

The initials are shown in the event reports.
CARD READERSet to yes if a cardreader is connected.
The tester has to introduce his/her card and the initials are saved automatically in the test report if set to yes.
Default: no
PVS AFTER BOOTSet to yes if a PVS (Performance Validation System) test has to be executed after reboot.
Default: no
PVS ORDERAllows to choose between 6 possible orders to perform the PVS test in (FE>SS>NFE, FE>NFE>SS,…)

Also refer to IN/OUT MENU for automated PVS functions through 24V plc signals.
