Settings to configure the metal detector in order to comply with the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Food Technical Standard.
REJECT CONFIRM
yes enables reject monitoring. It thus checks whether the contaminated product was successfully rejected.
The status of the metal detector switches to ERROR 4 Reject and ERROR Output is activated in case the input REJECT VALID does not receive a High to Low transition within the time window as set by REJECT CONF ms.
Note: Optional photo sensor and reject pusher required.
Note: reject valid has to be set in IN/OUT MENU
Default: no
REJECT CONF ms
Time window from ‘metal output’ until ‘rejected product interrupted the reject monitor photo sensor’.
Range: 20-9980
Default: 2000
BIN FULL
yes enables reject bin monitoring.
It thus checks whether the rejection bin is full.
Note: Optional photo sensor required.
Note: bin full has to be set in IN/OUT MENU
Default: no
LOW AIR
yes enables air pressure monitoring (with optional pressure sensor).
Status of the metal detector will switch to ERROR (i.e. relay K2 “OFF”) if the air pressure is too low.
Note: Optional pressure sensor required.
Note: low air has to be set in IN/OUT MENU
Default: no
BIN DOOR
yes enables bin door monitoring (with optional photo sensor). If the bin door is open for more than BIN ERROR seconds the metal detector will switch to ERROR 22 Bin door.
Note: Optional photo sensor required.
Note: bin door has to be set in IN/OUT MENU
BIN ERROR seconds
sets duration after which a BIN DOOR and BIN FULL error is triggered.
Default: 1 sec
Range: 1-999 sec
PHOTO EYE ERR mm
Setting for systems with internal conveyor.
The value has to be set to 3x METAL PHOTO mm.
Refer to MENU > PRODUCT MENU > REJECT MENU > METAL PHOTO mm
If the photo sensor is blocked and after the conveyor belt moved the indicated distance for this parameter, the metal detector will switch to ERROR 23 Photo Sensor. The error is self clearing after the photo sensor is unblocked. Conveyor has to be restarted manually.
Default: 300 mm
Range: 0-9999 mm
Note: Optional photo sensor required.
Note: reject sync has to be set in IN/OUT MENU
BLOCKAGE FUNCTIONS
BLOCKAGE sec
Adjusts the time the blockage photo sensor has to be permanently blocked before the ERROR 21 BLOCKAGE is triggered.
BLOCKAGE sec. is active when any of the digital inputs in IN/OUT MENU is set to blockage.
Default: 10 sec
Range: 1-99 sec
Since V1.51f22
Range: 0-99 sec
Note: With blockage sec = 0 every product will trigger the ERROR 21 BLOCKAGE
POST BLOCKAGE
Since version 1.50c
Determines the status of the conveyor belt when the blockage of the photo sensor is removed.
- Conveyor stop:
- Error automatically resets 3 seconds after removal of blockage.
- Conveyor has to be manually restarted. Same behaviour as in version before 1.50c.
- Conveyor same:
- Error automatically resets 1.5 seconds after removal of blockage.
- Conveyor automatically returns to the same status as before the blockage.
CAUTION: If conveyor same is chosen, the conveyor can automatically restart after the blockage is removed. Make sure that nobody can reach into the product stream.
Note: Optional photo sensor or external 24V DC signal required.
